About

Rutob Consult helps banks, businesses, families and institutions in Sierra Leone and West Africa use finance that is Shariah-compliant and credible: products that are reviewed properly, halal claims that hold up, and zakat worked out correctly.

Our mission

To make Shariah-compliant finance accessible and credible in Sierra Leone — explained in plain language, documented in writing, and priced for a local market.

Part of Rutob Group

Rutob Consult is the advisory arm of Rutob Group, alongside Rutob Travels, Rutob Education and Rutob Charity. For [number] years the group has organised Hajj and Umrah journeys, run education programmes and delivered charity work in Sierra Leone. That record of handling people’s trust and money carefully is the foundation this firm is built on.

Our Shariah approach

We work to recognised international standards, principally the AAOIFI Shariah Standards, and say in writing which standard each opinion relies on.

  • Every review and opinion is documented in writing, with the reasoning and the standard it follows.
  • Where scholars differ on a question, we say so and explain the main positions rather than presenting one as the only answer.
  • Our opinion is independent of whether a client buys further services from us.
  • We do not issue halal certificates. We prepare businesses for certification and liaise with the certifying body.

What we value

  • Integrity. We tell you what the standards say, including when it is not what you hoped to hear.
  • Confidentiality. Your documents and questions stay between you and us.
  • Local understanding. Advice that fits Sierra Leone’s banks, markets and regulation, not a copy of somewhere else.
